Separate and sealed bids for the 2016 RESTORATION OF VARIOUS STREETS ‑ CONTRACT NO. SP2015-62, under one contract, consisting of but not limited to:

BASE BID:  Restoration of portions of 7 streets listed above, at various locations. See location plan and bid drawings for specific locations. Scope of work and approximate quantities will include:

 

6907 s.y. of Milling at various depths; 787 tons of PG64‑22 9.5 mm scratch/leveling course; 11,704 s.y. of paving fabric; and approximately 14,920 s.y. of 2″ PG64‑22 9.5 mm Fine Grade Wearing Course over street surfaces; 2124 SY of 3” PG64-22 25mm binder also including Sedimentation Controls; Traffic Controls; and appurtenances associated with the paving project. Also on McElheny Road there will be widening involving 344 CY of Unclassified excavation, Clearing and grubbing of trees and brush to be marked by the Twp. with paint, and removal of approximately 370 ft. of existing guide rail and replacement with 428 ft. f new Type 2 Strong Post Guide Rail. Also included is 700 tons of 1” and 2” wearing course to be applied on Triphammer Road, Broad Street, Pleasant Street, Wallace Road, Ridge Road and at the Municipal Complex at locations directed by the Township Public Works Director.

 

Manhole and inlet adjustments rings will be provided by the Township for installation by the contractor. Fill behind the bituminous wedge curbs, berm restoration and soft spot repairs will be performed by Township forces before and after the contract work as appropriate.

 

ALTERNATE A

CORDWELL DRIVE                                     (Maple Drive to Cul-de-sac both east and west)

ALTERNATE BID:  Restoration of portions of Cordwell Drive as listed above. See location plan and bid drawings for specific locations. Scope of work and approximate quantities will include:

 

1224 s.y. of Milling at various depths; 206 tons of PG64‑22 9.5 mm scratch/leveling course; 2519 s.y. of paving fabric; and approximately 2753 s.y. of 2″ PG64‑22 9.5 mm Fine Grade Wearing Course over street surfaces; 2124 SY, also including Sedimentation Controls; Traffic Controls; and appurtenances associated with the paving project.

Bids will be received at South Park Township at the Municipal Building ‑ 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park, PA 15129, until 9:30  a.m. prevailing time on  Tuesday, February 2, 2016   and bids will be publicly opened and read aloud that same date at a meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m. It is anticipated that a contract will be awarded at the Public Meeting of the Township Supervisors beginning at 7:00 p.m. on   Monday, February 8, 2016.

Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of Timothy B. Fyock, P.E. (Benchmark Engineering & Construction Co., Inc.). ‑ PO Box 53 ‑ 1332 Route 30 ‑  Laughlintown, PA 15655, or at the office of the Township of South Park between 9:00 a.m. ‑ 5:00 p.m.  Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from either office beginning  Monday, January 11, 2016 upon payment of $50.00   made payable to BENCHMARK ENGINEERING.  NOT REFUNDABLE. If documents are mailed add $ 9.50  for postage and handling.

Proposals must be on the forms furnished by the Municipality.

Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates apply to this contract.  PennDOT Form 408 Requirements apply to this contract.  Only PennDOT pre‑qualified contractors will be eligible to submit bids for this project.

The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all proposals.

Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the Township of South Park, Allegheny County, in an amount equal to or greater than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal.

All bids shall remain irrevocable for 60  days after the actual date of the opening in compliance with Act 317 of 1978 approved November 26, 1978.  A recommended Pre‑Bid Meeting will be held at the Township of South Park, 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park, PA at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, Contractor’s submitting a bid proposal for this project are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.
